December Events Around Lake of the Ozarks

The holiday season is upon us, and there's no better way to get in the spirit of Christmas than to partake in community festivities. There are several family friendly fun activities around the Lake of the Ozarks to help you and your family get in the holiday spirit. Your Lake of the Ozarks pest control company has compiled a list of events taking place throughout the month of December that you can enjoy.

Lake Holiday Light Parks

The Lake of the Ozarks is home to four beautiful drive-thru holiday light parks. The holiday light parks will be open beginning mid-November and run through the holiday season. Each holiday light park has its own set of unique holiday light displays that the entire family will enjoy and while donations are gladly accepted, the holiday light parks are free to drive through.

Candyland is an event that promotes generosity during the Christmas season through gift donations for underprivileged children in the Lake area.  The event was founded in 1984 and to date has served more than 10,000 local children. Karen Hughes, Lake Ozark Rotary Club President said, “In hard times, these children feel the impact even more and community generosity can help bring a smile to a child’s face this holiday season!”

Christmas trees with candy canes will be setup at Nick's True Value Hardware Store in Osage Beach, and at the Tri-County YMCA in Osage Beach. Select a candy cane from the tree, and on that candy cane, will be a card with the name of a needy child in the area. Purchase gifts ranging from $75-$100 (or what you can afford), and return the gifts with the card to Nick's True Value Hardware Store. Once gifts are received, the Rotary Club will deliver the gifts to the children. Cash donations are also being taken for the cause by contacting the Rotary Club.

Another very special annual event that we are passionate about is the Lake Area Christmas for Kids event! This is the 33rd annual charity event to provide toys for Lake-area children. This year, Christmas for Kids is going back to its roots! It's going to be a BIG party with dueling pianos, food, santa, and of course, Christmas presents for the local children!

Check Out 2022 Candyland and Lake Area Christmas for Kids!

'Tis the holiday season, and we hope that you're beginning to feel the spirit and joy of the holidays! In lieu of the upcoming holidays, we want to bring 2 special programs to your attention that we hold very near and dear to our hearts. These wonderful events focus on helping underprivileged children around the Lake of the Ozarks experience a more fulfilling Christmas - Lake Area Candyland & Lake Area Christmas for Kids! Here's a little information about these wonderful events: 

2022 Candyland Event

The Candyland event was founded in 1984 and to date has served over 12,500 local children. In all, our local Rotary Clubs sponsor roughly 300 children each year with this event that may not otherwise have a joyous Christmas for a number of reasons. They receive lists of needy children from both the Eldon School District, as well as the School of the Osage. 

How to Donate

Christmas trees with candy canes will be setup at Nick's True Value Hardware Store in Osage Beach, and at the Tri-County YMCA in Osage Beach. Select a candy cane from the tree, and on that candy cane, will be a card with the name of a needy child in the area. Once gifts are received, the Rotary Club will deliver the gifts to the children. Cash donations are also being taken for the cause by contacting the Rotary Club.

Just purchase a ticket or sponsor a table and bring a new, unwrapped toy to enjoy a joyous evening of fun entertainment for a great cause! Event ticket and sponsorship proceeds provide underprivileged children at the Lake of the Ozarks and surrounding communities with two Christmas gifts per child, plus a $15 gift certificate for the lake area resale shops for each child. 

Funds left over after providing Christmas for the children go to organizations Kiwanis supports throughout the year: CADV, Children’s Learning Center, Hope House, Kids Harbor, Lake Area Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Lake Area Helping Hands, Lake Regional Pediatrics, LOFD Car Seat Program, Ronald McDonald House (Columbia, MO), School of the Osage Cares for Kids, Scholarships for Kids, Share the Harvest Food Pantry, Tri County YMCA, Wonderland Camp, Central Foster Care, Adoption Association and many more.

Become a Sponsor for Christmas For Kids!

It's that time of year to begin thinking about the coming holidays and what you want to do to celebrate. While you're making your holiday plans, we wanted to put a little bug in your ear about a super special event that we hold near and dear to our hearts - Lake Area Christmas for Kids! This is a wonderful event that allows over 1,600 children around the Lake of the Ozarks to experience a more fulfilling Christmas! Want to learn how you can get involved? Here's some information on becoming a sponsor and more!

Sponsors Needed!

Kiwanis Club of Ozark Coast is looking for sponsors for their annual Christmas for Kids Dinner! This event includes a sit-down 3-course meal, free beer and wine (while supplies last), and an incredible silent and live auction, with entertainment provided by Elite Lighting and Sound.

Doors will open at 5:30 pm for cocktail hour and dinner will be served at 6:30 pm. In following the Christmas for Kids tradition, each person is asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy with a value of $20, or a $20 cash donation upon entry.

RSVP your table today! Discounted hotel rooms are available for CFK attendees.

If purchasing a table of 10 is not an option for you, we will offer single tickets to be purchased in advance for $100 per person. This includes entrance into the event at 5:30 pm, sit down dinner, auction item purchase opportunities, and the full evening of entertainment.
